SUO Challenge #129, Cards Without Words = Spiders!

Hi Stampers!

I am not a big fan of spiders but I am doing another card Challenge as I had so much fun the last time. The next card challenge is with SUO Challenge Blog again (SUO = Stampin' Up! Only) SUO Challenge #129, Cards Without Words.  Cards Without Words mean that when creating a greeting card you cannot have any words on it.

This was the challenging part. Most of my designs have words and was kind of lost. I wanted to play with new products I received and as well design something that will reflect my upcoming 3D project call Haunted  which will be released on October 5.

Sorry for the reflection of my lighting ... The basic black cardstock is cut at 3 7/8" x 5 1/8" and dry embossed with the Woodland Embossing Folder on basic black cs, and I painted the birch wood with white craft ink and let it sit overnight to dry, and then coming back to it highlighted the areas that I want more white.

The designer paper (Happy Haunting 139584) is cut at 4" x 5 1/4" with 1/2" trimming around it. You want to secure a 3 7/8" x 5 1/8" window sheet and then cut a 1/4 Spider Web Doily and secure it to the upper left corner and add foam tape around it.

For the shaker, I used silver and gold sequins, then I decided that I want spiders to be included. Not just one spider but a bunch of spiders. The spiders where stamped on very vanilla cs, and then punch them out using 3/4" circle punch. Add your forest panel and then onto a basic black base card.

I later added a frame around the DP using the fine tip glue.

Spooky!!

MOJO410: Happy Halloween

Hi Stampers!

MOJO410: Let's get into some inspirations, and what a better way to go with a sketch by MOJO Monday.

I started off with this sketch MOJOMonday 410, as my new supplies came in from the Holiday Catalogue.

The opening for the owl was cut out first with the # 4 Circle Collections Framelits on Crumb Cake and then I embossed it with the new Woodland Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (139673) and sponged the birch with White Craft Ink.

The owl was stamped with memento black ink on white cardstock and die cut using the Howl-o-ween Treat stamp set and the Boo! Framelits (139663). I trimmed it closely to the owl, and die cut another owl in basic black and mat them together. I wanted the owl to peek out of the hole and brought his wing out so that he looks like he is haunting you.

I love the black glimmer paper (139605) which sits behind the owl to give that starry look.

The sentiment is from the Happy Scenes (139821) stamp set. The word "Wishing you a Happy Halloween" is stamped in white craft ink on basic black, and then embossed with white embossing powder and just cut out the Happy Halloween.

Totally Awesome!

Hi Stampers!

It was time to play in my studio! I wondering what else I can do with this set?

I should make more spinner cards! Mr. Frog is totally awesome!

I manipulated the stamp set to remove the word "Totally Awesome". I highly recommend it. It will not hurt your stamp set.

I used the sentiment in the window opening and stamped it with White Craft Ink and embossed it with the white embossing powder.

Thanks - Female Frog

Hi Stampers!

Just finishing on my You're Sublime tutorial, and I decided to change this 3x3 card to reflect a girl card. It is almost ready to go.

I added eye lashes to the frog because when you are fussy cutting the image, you ended loosing the eye lashes. To create eye lashes, you will need grosgrain ribbon, and trim off one side and remove the fibers. I attached the ribbon to the back side with double sided tape.

Did you noticed the Greetings Thinlits? It is curved. To create the curve, once you cut your greetings out, bend the letters a little bit and glue it into place.

Interested in the Tutorial, email me.

The Amazing 3Ds to Go! (Catalogue: 2015-7) comes with:

- You're Sublime Stamp Set
- Materials (9) 3x3 cards with envelopes - 3 of each design
- Materials for the Sublime Trailer
- Large Pearl Jewels
- Package of Bold Bright Sequins
- Package of 1/8" Silver Brads
- Video Tutorials with Step by Step Instructions
- PDF Tutorial with all the measurements

The kit can come embossed or not. This is your choice, and you will need the following product to complete this project.

- Memento Ink
- Aquapainter and Inks
- Multipurpose Glue
- Glue Dots

Cost is $70 for pick ups and locals. Add $6.00 to ship. Please allow 3 weeks for delivery.

Ice Cream Cheers!

Hi Stampers!

Here is Card 1 for the Sprinkles of Life 3D Ice Cream Parlour. If you missed the blog hop click on this link HERE. There is a giveaway prize tutorial which will be announced on August 10.

Anyways, getting back to the details of this card.

I cut 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" Cherry On Top DP and adhere to a white base card. For the flag, I cut 2" x 5-1/4" of whisper white cardstock, punch the bottom using the triple banner punch and then embossed it with Happy Hearts embossing folder.

The word "cheers", from the Greetings Thinlits, is cut out 3x in basic black cardstock and stacked together. I also applied crystal effect on top and let it sit to dry before attaching it to the base card.

The ice cream and the cone are stamped with memento black ink onto the remnants of the Cherry On Top DP and punched them out with the Tree Builder.

The cherry is punched with the Watermelon Wonder cardstock remnants, and I added crystal effect on it too.

Adhere them all together, and this is what you get!

Sprinkles of Life + Blog Hop + Giveaway!

Hi Stampers!

Welcome to another Creative Circle Blog Hop! Today the Creative Circle Design Team took my Ice Cream Parlour pattern, and took the pattern to another new world of their own version.

Here is my take. My inspiration came from the Sprinkles of Life stamp set. The first thing that came to my head was an ice cream parlour. I wanted a fun way to hold all the ice cream/cupcake cards together.

To open the box, you pull the sign to lift the top to access your cards.

Want to make an ice cream parlour? The download pattern is available. Click on the image below.

Very easy to assemble together. You can view the assembling tutorial above. Be sure to come back soon. I will post each of the cards and instructions to go with the Ice Cream Parlour.

BLOG HOP

SUO Challenge #128, Butterflies!

Hi Stampers!

When I saw this post about SUO Challenge #128, Butterflies! I immediately new that this is for me! I made this card awhile ago but have not posted it yet. I was saving it for that moment. What couldn't be a better time to post this card.

For this challenge, I created a project, using Stampin’ Up! products only, that features Butterflies – one or a whole bunch – and certainly the butterfly the highlight!

Sending Wishes Your Way - Closed

It is a gate-folding card. On the left side, the fern is stamped in versamark and heat set the white embossing powder. I stamped the fern again with old olive classic ink and then sponged the lower part with old olive to make it look like grassy-woodland.

The upper part of the card is sponged in pool party classic ink.

For the butterflies, they were first cut out with our butterflies thinlits dies on irresistible specialty dp and sponged several rainbow colors.

Sending Wishes Your Way - Opened

And when you open it up, the butterflies pops like it is fluttering.

You have to watch the video. It is worth seeing and my mouth just drops!

Here are the products I used.

My Brand

Hi Stampers!

I am slowly building the business up again, and needed someone to coach me, so I bought this book called "The Handmade Marketplace, 2nd Ed." by Kari Chapin. If you have not got, this a good resource book to have. It talks about branding and other crafty marketing.

It took awhile to find my brand and I finally found it ... an orchid. You probably going to ask why an orchid, it has nothing to do with stamping.

You are right, it has nothing to stamping, but if you look at an orchid flower, it is elegant and each flower takes an amazing form of shape and how the petals are overlapping.

I found my niche in creating 3D papercrafts and I love making my own designs. My favourite flowers are Orchids, especially the phalaenopsis. When you put the two together, you get Amazing, Elegant, Designs. So there you have it. I changed my blog from StampersPlus.com to lizhollowaydesign.blogspot.ca to reflect who I am too.

And look what I found while killing time in the mall. Pandora Orchid charm!
