Cotton Paper Flowers

Hi Stampers!

Make beautiful flowers out of Stampin' Up! Cotton Paper. In this video Bonnie used the Floral Frames Collection Framelits to cut the flower shapes, but you could use any flower shaped punch or framelits made by Stampin' Up!

Happy Birthday, Matthew!

Hi Stampers!

This is weekend #2 of deep cleaning of my stamping room. What a difference! It is almost there but not quite. Still a bit more tweaking and waiting for parts.

I had to make a birthday card for my nephew. I created a special card for him which took off to a different spin. It's a slider/shaker card.

CAS(E) this Sketch #141!

Hi Stampers!

When it comes to clean & easy cards, I sometimes find it hard to create, so I challenged myself to play along with this sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch!

I had to think through the process and layout all my pieces. Believe me it took me two tries before I got it right.

I wrapped the silver metallic thread around my fingers several times to the number strings for the card and secure the thread with a glue dot. Then the DP is cut at 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" and I rounded the 4 corners with my corner punch. I added some retired snowflakes on each corner and rhinestones to give the card look-a-like snow.

The sentiment is embossed with white embossing powder.

Thanks for joining me!

Cat's Meow!

Hi Stampers!

Today I am bringing you another fun card using the Haunt Ya Later! stamp set. OMG so much fun with this set.

The theme I am creating is called front/back card which Stampin' Up! does not make so I created my own by placing the image on a lightbox to see where the black outlines are. In this case the cat was black so I really didn't have to do much other than coloring him black.

I love how he sits on the window sill peaking through the window to see what is inside.
When the card opens up, the image of the cat is still sitting on the window, only that the cat is inside.

On the writing side (not shown) there is a sentiment that says "I think You're Purrfect! from You Little Fur Ball stamp set.

ReVamped Stamp Room & Haunt Ya Later!

Hi Stampers!

Sorry for the lack of post. I had to do some deep cleaning/purging of my stamp room. It was a solid Saturday/Sunday last weekend.

I wanted to get back into my stamp room rather than spreading out into the basement living room, I took on a major task, and adventure into cleaning and purging. Here is at the final stage of wall 1. Still working on wall 2-4 as I am awaiting for more structural parts. I will show that later on.

But basically, I now have all my 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock on the far left, and my ink pads, reinkers and marker pens, together with my coloring medium all within my arm's reach.

The top shelf holds all my 3Ds made to date. The glass shelf below the 3Ds holds all my mini albums, and the middle two holds my frequently used tools.

I was too tired to continue cleaning my stamp room, so I took a little me time, and put my stamp room to the test to see if everything works as planned.

It worked as I had hoped for! Everything is put back into its place and within arm's reach. Here is what I created today!

This is a swing card using the Haunt Ya Later (139699) stamp set.

I love how my Mr. Vampire sits on the window sill and Missy Witch taking charge. The front of the card is embossed with the brick embossing folder and then sponged with early espresso ink.

When the card is fully opened, you can see that the window is a shaker card. I love how this card turned out!

Get Well Soon!

Hi Stampers!

I am bringing in another SUO Challenge #131, Get Well Soon card. I don't have many get well cards, so I this is time to build some in my stash.

I am playing with the Christmas Cuties stamp set (139787 (c)) but give you another angle on how this image can be used, and when I saw this cute little angel, I knew immediately that this image would be perfect. An angel praying to heal faster.

I used the Delightful Dozen for my get well sentiment. I created the background for the sun to shine on the receiver, and to let him/her know that there is a light at the other end. I made this a shaker card as it always brings a smile to their face.

Although you cannot see her dress from the photo, I added shimmering paint to her dress to give it a twinkle. The "+" sign was just freehand cut.

Owl Back Pack #2 - Legal Attire

Hi Stampers!

Just returning from vacation and I have lots to do. Prepping for the October release and class, as well as, the next release and class.

I finally had a chance to finish this off. It is another back pack #2 owl but this time in a legal attire. I work for a lawyer who loves my creativity and handmade cards.

Her birthday is coming up in October, so I created this owl pack full of handmade cards. On the back I added a gift card holder and gift card to her favourite coffee house.

The black glitter paper acts as her pockets. I didn't want to put black on black as it would not show.

September Blog Hop + Givewaway

Hi Stampers!

Welcome to another exciting month BLOG HOP! The team is challenged to take the Backpack #2 pattern and design a different look with coordinating cards. Is this your first hop, then you will need start at the beginning with Sandy Mott.

School is back in session and this month is a great way hop along with a backpack pattern. I can’t wait to celebrate this release with you with my Creative Circle designer team! We hope the creative ideas along the way gets you inspired to have FUN and craft this weekend!

This is the original Backpack #2. It is easy to build. If you don't have an electronic cutter, the PDF pattern comes with the original size. All you need to do is to trace or print on CS and cut them out.

Here is my take new take. In line with the Backpack #2, I decided to create an owl look. The owl is wise, and the coordinating cards are "thank yous" and "congratulations". It can also hold a gift card such Starbucks.

Here is a closer look at my Backpack #2 - Owl Bag. I used the Striped Scallop Thinlits Die to create his feather. The scallop layer was attached, and trimmed. Each little featherettes is embossed with early espresso ink and curled with bottom curve.

Rather than a straight edge top cover, I brought in the top note through MDS and adjusted the length and width (I will put this in with the downloads).

The eyes, I used various sizes of circle punch and added googlie eyes.

The nose is a circle punch, punch out of DP paper, and I colored the DP with orange marker.

The feet, I used large oval punch, and then shaped it with the paper snips.

The back side, rather than leaving it plain or create the feather look, I cut a heart shape and arrow and then I embossed the back with Woodgrain Embossing folder before adding the back to the project.

Wanna a chance to win? Leave me a comment. I need ideas from you. What 3Ds would like to see?

Comment on my blog post to let me know. I will be drawing a random commenter to win a copy of the Backpack #2, and you will be chosen as my next month's guest designer (must have an e-cutter). Comment on the stops along the way for even more chances to win.

Winners will be drawn on September 20.

If you can't wait, you can purchase this pattern here

Here is an alternative use for the Back Pack 2.

I used the Back Pack 2 pattern. The eyes are from the retired Daisy 2 die and I just layered them together. They eyes are attached with 1-1/4" basic black circles and then nested with 1" circles of crush curry cs.

I had some jumbo eyes from my crafting days, and it was perfect for this project.

SUO Challenge #130 – Cards for Friends!

Hi Stampers!

Another SUO Challenge is on the rise - Cards for Friends! over at the SUO Challenge Blog. I always make a stash of cards, especially for my friends because they are so hard to come by, next to sisters, of course.

A card for someone you care should have a special WOW signature on them. When they see details, the recipient knows that there is a lot of TLCs.

I used the stamp set called Fabulous Florets (retired now) but still my all time favourite set. The technique I used on this card is called faux glass which is stamped on window sheet. I stamped the flower twice, colored, fussy cut and layered and then I used the heat tool to curl the plastic.

The sentiment is from the Sheltering Tree stamp set and the embossing folder is non-SU embossing folder as Stampin' Up! did not carry embossing folders at that time, (sorry!) but you can be easily substituted with the Lovely Lace EF which is similar to this one.

I have a lot of unfinished stash and this time, I challenged myself to bring in something from the old to create something new. The old card had burlap strands wrapped behind the flower and I replaced it with gold metallic thread and finished off with a current sentiment. I also had a vintage button in the centre of the flower and I ripped that off too, and replaced it with a rhinestone jewels. I wanted show you that no matter how old the card / stash may be, by adding new products, it will make your card look new again.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email me. I will be happy to answer them.
