Merry Christmas!

Hello Friends!

Merry Christmas everyone!

I have been busy working Christmas gifts! One of the best gift of all was creating something special for my downlines and VIP customers. Each received a custom display board with their name on it and on the back holds a Stampin' Up! logo.

So grateful for each of them.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

CCDT Dec. Hop: "Home for the Holidays"

Hello Friends!

Welcome to another month of the CCDT Blog Hop. If you come from Sandy Mott's blog, you have come to the right place. Otherwise keep hopping away!

In this post, the challenge theme this month is "Home for the Holidays" set out by Sandy Mott.

At first I was a bit stumped. I kept asking myself what does this mean? A card, a decoration, an invitation? The list goes on and on. Then I told myself, just go with the flow, and whatever the outcome is, it will be a great one!

For my "Home for the Holidays", because of my new house, we now can hold a sit down dinner in one area instead of scattering all over the house.

I decided to create seating arrangements theme for my table and will be placing this on their dinner plate.

I used the tree from Santa's Sleigh thinlits, and die cut them out 6x in real red cs, and score down the middle.

Then, I removed the tree stump, fold and crease well with a bone folder before gluing the sides together. NOTE: I did not glue the whole side, just the middle.

Once the tree is formed, I took my multipurpose glue, and generously add glue to each of the tree stem. Then I poured dazzling diamonds on the glue so that it looks like snow on the tree. This is optional: I die cut the star 4x, score, and glue it together like I have with the trees. Set this aside to dry before attaching it to a box.

For the box, I created this box using my e-cutter. The box measures 2" x 2" square, and I added a tab in the front so that the recipient can open the box. The box is cut in crumb cake cs and covered up with cookie cutter dp.

When the box is assembled, hot glue the tree to the box, and hot glue the star to the tree. I then die cut and attach the reindeer (which is cut in gold foil). Here you can add the name of the person. The box inside holds a Ferrero Rocher Chocolate Candy.

This is an after thought when I finished creating this piece, I later thought you can make this as your Christmas Advent Calendar and it also can be a tree decoration.

Merry Mice!

Hello Friends!

I'm breathing for air again! I don't know how everyone does it but keeping an updated blog is tough!

The word is out, yes, I have a laser cutter, and I have been testing the waters! I had a huge order of bone folders to engrave, and this what it looks like. If you want one, just email me. Cost is $11.10 for locals, and if live afar, then we will discuss the shipping. Sorry, Canada only but if you are in the US, contact my friend Tamra Davis.

Next up, Christmas Cards ... I knew that I should not have procrastinated. Now I am backlogged! I have not yet played with the Merry Mice and this was a perfect opportunity. I have an order for Christmas Cards to get to. Yeah for my business!

I was trying to work it so that I don't have to fussy cut, and use my laser cutter to do all the work.

In order for my laser cutter to do all the fussy cutting, I stamped, traced, scanned, and converted to an image (just the outline). Tweaked it so that it cuts around his body, tail and hat.

I cut a template (the negative), and lined it up with my MISTI and the rest was history. I cannot believe how much time it saved me. It was like ink, stamp, remove; ink, stamp, remove; ink, stamp, remove. You get it? The Merry Mice lined up every time I stamped.

When all the Merry Mice were cut, then it was an assembly line to color them all in.

The coloring mediums I used are the Zig Markers (non-Stampin' Up!) with the aquapainters, and I wanted the Merry Mice to be bright and colorful. Then I added a little bit of Wink of Stella clear to his hat (hard to see) but it is beautiful in Real Life.

I still love this Northern Star embossing folder which is retired and I cannot depart from. This is still my all time favourite embossing folder for Christmas.

Here is a complete card of the Merry Mice. Base card is 11" x 4-1/4", score at 5-1/2" in Whisper White Thick cs. The mat is cut at 5" x 3 3/4" Pacific Point cs, and my focal point is cut at 4 7/8" x 3 5/8" in Whisper White cs.

The focal mat was placed on the MISTI so that the stars in the background are stamped before I ran through the embossing folder. Then I applied the cut and colored image to the focal point with mono glue.

To add a little contrast, I added sequins to the card.

CCDT November Hop - Never Ending Cube

Hello Friends!

Welcome to another CCDT blog hop.

Firstly, I welcome another team member who just recently joined the CCDT. She is another amazing designer who loves to use her e-cutter and Stampin' Up! Please welcome Kate Creasey! You can locate her blog by clicking on the image below.

This month's hop is the Never Ending Cube. It is like a never ending card but it is in a cube format. What I love about this cube is that it is large enough for a great home decor. Each month you can change the cube to show something different.

When building this 3D, I had really think what I wanted on there.

I created my cube to be a memory keeper. I used the By the Shore Suite designer series paper, as it ties in with pictures of my niece and nephew fishing. I added extra mats on the faces to show you that you don't have to use the little squares. You can use pictures up to 4".

The cube measures 4 x 4.

I didn't have enough pictures so I made some decorated panels using the stamp set called Seaside Shore.

This part was left intentionally incase my sister wish to write a journal on the squares.

I love creating mosaic scrapbook. Here I wanted to show you that it is ok to cut your pictures up. Most people have trouble with it. It is actually really worth it!

Without further adieu, click on the icon below, and hop on over to our talented gal, Lynn Streifert!

Convention Swaps & Others

Hello Friends!

Phew! Convention swaps are now done, as well as personalized bone folders and acrylic blocks. See you all at the Vancouver Convention Centre on November 5.

For my convention swaps, these are my WOW swaps. Creativing 15 full cards was a lot of work. In order to keep the momentum moving, I traced the By the Shore stamp set and cut them out of with my e-cutter.

Then, I took my mini MISTI and made a template to line up the little fishies. Once that was done, I lined up all the precut cardstocks, and stamped away. It really didn't take that long to stamp 30 fishes, and 45 seaweed.

Stay tune!

Baby Congrats!

Hello Friends!

Still catching up on my list to do. It is a long one!

In this post, I have been commissioned to do a bunch of baby congrats card. This is what I came up with. Something simple yet elegant.

The baby feet was cut out with my laser cutter and then I embossed with the Happy Hearts. I made this into a shaker card adding pink sequins. Then it is layered onto a piece of Whisper White and then to the base card of Early Espresso.

I am now offering card KITS TO GO. Because there are no stamping involved, this can be ordered anywhere. All the materials are lasered cut. All you have to do is assemble.

Cost $35 CDN + shipping (exchange rates may apply) for 8 cards + envelopes. Please email or text me.

Amazing Class!

Hello Friends!

Be warned. Picture heavy.

I had an amazing class yesterday! It was fun teaching again!

I am apologizing as I don't have many pictures. I accidentally deleted the card in error and had to rely on others (Photos by Charmaine H., Joanne W. and Ruth K.)

Without further adieu, here are the projects they made in a day.

This class was about memory keeping. They built this explosion, never-ending cube. It is not the greatest picture because it doesn't have any pictures in it. I will finish this off when I have a chance.

Each of them were to take it home and finish off the project. This box is just the prototype but they received a roll of ribbon the stitched edge ribbon.

The class was tailored to those who are inexperienced and well-seasoned stampers.

I taught 3 techniques with this card. Blending the skylines, how Father Christmas popping out of the woods, and the fun fold.

The next card is an extreme WOW! (Sorry the embossing folder is non-SU. I cannot locate my brick EF since the move and had to improvise).

I used the Father Christmas as the base for all their projects. Taught them how to use the blending pens and advised them not to throw the blending once it is dry.

This card can hold pictures on panels 1 and 3.

The best part, hot complimentary lunch and dessert!

So what did they get?

  • Precut materials for 3D and 3 cards
  • 1 roll ribbon
  • Father Christmas stamp set
  • 3 Finger Daubers
  • 1 Personalized Bone Folder
  • 1 Blender Pen

  • 1 drinking glass, etched with Stampin' Up! Logo and the Statement of the Heart.

  • Next Lower Mainland Inkers is scheduled for February 5 (Sunday). If you want to join in, please let me know.
