Swirly Cheers

Hello Friends!

I honestly cannot get enough of the Swirly Bird Bundle with the coordinating dies. There are so many possibilities.

In this card, I wanted to play with the inColor, the dapper denim and emerald envy inks.

The step-by-step instructions below will show you how this card is accomplished.

Step 1:
Cut (1) 4-1/4" x 11" of Whisper White Thick Cardstock, and score at 5-1/2". Stamp the dots in dapper denim ink to create the splashes on the whisper white thick cardstock. Set aside. This is your base card.

Step 2:
Die cut the waves with Swirly Scribble die in dapper denim cardstock and sponge the positive piece in dapper denim ink to give a bit more color. Save some of the negative pieces because you will need it to give the inlay effect with the two colors. Die cut the waves in emerald envy cardstock, and only kept the negative pieces. The positive piece can be kept for another use.

Step 3:
Adhere the positive piece of dapper denim cardstock onto the base card.

Step 4:
Inlay the negative pieces to positive piece. I used 2 negative pieces of dapper denim and 3 negative pieces of emerald envy.

Step 5:
Sponge dapper denim ink and emerald envy ink, blending the two inks together until you get the consistency you want. Ensuring that you get inside the crevasses too!

Step 6:
Die cut the word "cheers" from the Greeting Thinlits die in crumb cake cardstock. Adhere to the base card.

Step 7:
Stamp the sails in dapper denim ink onto remnants of whisper white cardstock and fussy cut the sails. (TIP: when stamping the sails, I line the two stamps together on the block, and stamp onto the cardstock).

Step 8:
Stamp the boat in crumb cake ink onto remnants of crumb cake cardstock and fussy cut the boat.

Step 9:
Adhere steps 7 and 8 to the base card.

Step 10:
Sponge the sun in peekaboo peach, and then die cut the swirl in peekaboo peach cardstock. You can sponge the die cut too if you want.

That is it! Be sure to leave me a comment, or if you have any questions, I am here to help. I love hearing from you!

Swing back next week, as I will show you how to upscale it to a WOW card, using the same layout.

A lot of TLCs'

Hello Friends!

It is a bitter-sweet moment! My last class at the Vancouver home before I move to the valley, which is really not that far. Only 45 minutes away from Vancouver.

This is my summer event that was held yesterday.

I love holding classes at the house as nothing beats the TLCs I give to these ladies. A hot lunch (Pineapple Chicken Skewers, Rice Pilaf and a Greek Salad).

I am so thankful that my hubby was able to help BBQ the skewers while I continue to teach the ladies.

I forgot to take some pictures of the dessert section. These pictures below were taken from Saturday as they were coming out of the oven.

White Chocolate & Blueberry mini cheesecake, top with a hint of whipping cream. Mini lemon tart. Lemon Poppyseed Bundt Cake.

They all went home with a full stomach and lots of goodies. The handbag fits all these goodies inside + 8 full cards.

More pictures were taken but it will be shown on the Canadian Papercraft Cards and Scrapbook FB page.

Want to come and join the fun? Email me at liz.holloway@gmail.com. The next big event will be held in October. TBA and most likely at the Cloverdale home! I feel that it was more of a personal touch rather than going to a restaurant. Who doesn't want to be pampered!

Hello

Hello Friends!

Something about butterflies make a card so elegant!

Another clean & easy card.

  1. Cut (1) 4-1/4" x 11" of Whisper White Thick cs, and score at 5-1/2". This is your base card.
  2. Emboss the base card with Floral Affection Textured Impressions.
  3. Die cut the word "hello" (3) from the Greetings Thinlits Dies in basic black, and adhere together with the fine-tip glue pen. I also added fine-tip glue on the basic black to give a shiny look and set aside to dry before adhering to the base card.
  4. Die cut (1) small Beautiful Butterfly in watercolor paper.
  5. Die cut (1) small Bold Butterfly in basic black cs. Adhere this to the watercolor paper with the fine-tip glue pen.
  6. Spritz your watercolor paper with water, and apply Daffodil Dijon ink with your aquapainter. Let the color disburse. Set aside to dry.
  7. When the butterfly is dry, I applied the fine-tip glue on the basic black cs and let it dry before adhering to the base card.
  8. Place your sequins with your fine-tip glue.

Love You Lots - CASE

Hello Friends!

I need some fast mass reproduction cards, and when I need lots of them I often CASE. Yes, even an experience stampers do CASE (Copy And Share Everything).

I cased this design from Katy as it is very clean & simple but instead I changed the elements so that it reads "Thank You".

  1. Stamp Mr. Frog in black archival ink on whisper white cs. Fussy cut Mr. Frog. Color Mr. Frog in Emerald Envy ink with aquapainter. Add as much color to your desire. If you wish to add a tongue and a heart, use a red sharpie pen.
  2. Cut (1) 4-1/4" x 11" of thick whisper white cs, and score at 5-1/2". This is your base card.
  3. Cut (1) 1/2" x 5-1/2" of playful palette designer series paper and adhere to the base card.
  4. Stamp small swirls using the swirly bird stamp set in crumb cake ink. One at full strength, and the other at 1/2 strength.
  5. Stamp dots using the swirly bird stamp set in crumb cake ink over the small swirls.
  6. Stamp the Thank You from One Big Meaning stamp set in archival black ink.
  7. Adhere Mr. Frog with stampin dimensionals and adhere to the base card.
Voila, you are done.

Mini Clear Treat Box

Hello Friends!

Working hard to get everything ready for my June event with the lower mainland inkers group.

This time it is a small group as it is at my house, the last event before I move!

I used the clear mini treat boxes, as they were perfect size for all my guests. Each one is filled with loose leaf tea, enough for two cups. I wrapped the clear treat box with the daffodil dijon Mini Striped Ribbon and the Baker's Twine Ribbon.

I used the irresistibly floral cardstock and trim the top with scalloped tag topper. Then I sponged the cardstock with night of navy ink with a dauber. Stamped the "thank you" sentiment and add a washi tape on top.
