Convention Swaps & Others

Hello Friends!

Phew! Convention swaps are now done, as well as personalized bone folders and acrylic blocks. See you all at the Vancouver Convention Centre on November 5.

For my convention swaps, these are my WOW swaps. Creativing 15 full cards was a lot of work. In order to keep the momentum moving, I traced the By the Shore stamp set and cut them out of with my e-cutter.

Then, I took my mini MISTI and made a template to line up the little fishies. Once that was done, I lined up all the precut cardstocks, and stamped away. It really didn't take that long to stamp 30 fishes, and 45 seaweed.

Stay tune!

Baby Congrats!

Hello Friends!

Still catching up on my list to do. It is a long one!

In this post, I have been commissioned to do a bunch of baby congrats card. This is what I came up with. Something simple yet elegant.

The baby feet was cut out with my laser cutter and then I embossed with the Happy Hearts. I made this into a shaker card adding pink sequins. Then it is layered onto a piece of Whisper White and then to the base card of Early Espresso.

I am now offering card KITS TO GO. Because there are no stamping involved, this can be ordered anywhere. All the materials are lasered cut. All you have to do is assemble.

Cost $35 CDN + shipping (exchange rates may apply) for 8 cards + envelopes. Please email or text me.

Amazing Class!

Hello Friends!

Be warned. Picture heavy.

I had an amazing class yesterday! It was fun teaching again!

I am apologizing as I don't have many pictures. I accidentally deleted the card in error and had to rely on others (Photos by Charmaine H., Joanne W. and Ruth K.)

Without further adieu, here are the projects they made in a day.

This class was about memory keeping. They built this explosion, never-ending cube. It is not the greatest picture because it doesn't have any pictures in it. I will finish this off when I have a chance.

Each of them were to take it home and finish off the project. This box is just the prototype but they received a roll of ribbon the stitched edge ribbon.

The class was tailored to those who are inexperienced and well-seasoned stampers.

I taught 3 techniques with this card. Blending the skylines, how Father Christmas popping out of the woods, and the fun fold.

The next card is an extreme WOW! (Sorry the embossing folder is non-SU. I cannot locate my brick EF since the move and had to improvise).

I used the Father Christmas as the base for all their projects. Taught them how to use the blending pens and advised them not to throw the blending once it is dry.

This card can hold pictures on panels 1 and 3.

The best part, hot complimentary lunch and dessert!

So what did they get?

  • Precut materials for 3D and 3 cards
  • 1 roll ribbon
  • Father Christmas stamp set
  • 3 Finger Daubers
  • 1 Personalized Bone Folder
  • 1 Blender Pen

  • 1 drinking glass, etched with Stampin' Up! Logo and the Statement of the Heart.

  • Next Lower Mainland Inkers is scheduled for February 5 (Sunday). If you want to join in, please let me know.

I hope you enjoyed this project, please do use the hostess code to get free product! (hostess code show in the top right of my blog for the current one!) Learn more HERE. If you order is over $200 CDN, please do not use this code as YOU become the hostess and get the REWARDS!

October CCDT Hop - POP Up!

    Hello Friends!

Welcome to CCDT October Blog Hop!

It sure feels like forever since we last hop. In fact we only missed one month which was September.

    The CCDT is resuming again.

First, a big thanks to our past crew member Fran Sabad who joined the CCDT since the beginning. She is an amazing designer. We will miss her!

Second, we welcome our newest crew, Michelle Suitwhich we are all familiar with. I have no doubt she will bring you great inspirations. You can find her when you click on her name.

Third, if you hopped over from Sandy's blog, you have come to the right place. Our October hop begins with this fun fold - POP UP! Insert. I have been seeing so many POP UPs in the social media, that I wanted to make one too. I followed Dawn Griffith's video tutorial, and I gave up after the 3rd turn and scoring. My brain doesn't work as well as they used to so remembering all the measurements can be a challenge when you want to do a bunch of POP Up cards.

I like simple! Instead, I mapped out my measures to work with my electronic machine so that I don't have to think too much. Just add paper and push the button to cut. If you don't have an e-cutter, I highly recommend you getting one as it saves time. Time is essential for me.

I use my e-cutter daily as it is my right hand man.

With my POP Up, I used (1x) 12x12 the By the Shore DP for the inserts and the POP Up. The DP had extra spaces so rather than wasting it, I created extra pieces to use as decorative panels as you see on panels 2 and 4 below. It actually cuts 4 pieces but I only use 2 out of the 4 and really no wastage.

Where the dotted lines are the folds. See it in action, view here.

Panel 3 was cut to 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" of Whisper White cardstock and embossed with our gorgeous Seaside embossing folder. I then sponge the embossed panel with Dapper Denim ink. I also stamped the Angel Fish from Seaside Shore stamp set in Dapper Denim, fussy cut him and add some Wink of Stella

The seaweed was stamped with Garden Green ink onto Mint Macaroon cardstock and then sponged with Garden Green ink to pull the colors in to create nice shade of green.

I needed a boy fishing so I was on the hunt of a boy fishing. I found Huckleberry Fin on pinterest. I had to tweak so that it was not too detail to cut, and I raised his fishing pole up to accommodate the panel.

Then I wound our silver metallic thread around the fishing pole to make it look like the fishing pole was tangled up and Huckleberry did hook his fish.

Here is what my front looks like.

and this is what the inside looks like.

The designer paper is so gorgeous, you really don't need to do much.

Now if you would like a copy of the SVG or Silhouette file, leave me a comment with your email address and name. Answer this question, What would like to see on future posts?
