CCDT Blog Hop - ThankfulNess

Hello and welcome! It is time for another Creative Circle Blog Hop. The theme is Thankfulness! I have a lot to be thankful for:
  • Family
  • Health
  • Friends
  • Creative Circle Design Team
  • Downlines
  • and Everyone who surrounds me through my crafting circle - mainly Stampin' Up!
I am pretty much thankful for everything. Life is too short to worry about so I try not to worry or be stressed.

Our Thanksgiving was in October. I made this card for the in-laws who hosted the Holloway's family dinner. Although I was not able to attend, I sent her this card to let her know I care and thank her for inviting us.

Copper is in, and I had to play with the Seasonal Layer and the Copper foil. I die cut (2) maple leafs from the Seasonal Layer, and left the intricate cuts in. I wanted show that you don't have to remove every single cuts. It actually adds character to the card.

The foil maple leafs are stacked, and before laying the leafs down, I wrapped copper thread around the fingers, and then set it on the layered pieces. It is layered onto Pear Pizzazz, Whisper White and then Copper Foil. Then this gets added to the embossed Petal Burst Whisper White cs.

My PopUp Twist Insert is going viral, and you probably will see more!

So rather than Happy Birthday insert, I created the Thankful Twist. I die cut (3) branches from Bouquet Bunch Framelits, and piled them on top of each other to make it look like hay.

Then stamped and colored each pumpkin and attached to my insert. Here are all the measurements.

Details: (1) 4-1/4" x 11" Crushed Curry, scored at 5-1/2"
(1) 4" x 5-1/4" Whisper White, embossed in Petal Burst EF
(1) 2 3/8" x 2 3/8" Copper Foil
(1) 2 1/8" x 2 1/8" Whisper White
(1) 2" x 2" Pear Pizzazz
Remnant Copper Foil

Stamps: Seasonal Chum

Papers: Crushed Curry, Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz, Copper Foil, Basic Black
Accessories: Big Shot, Seasonal Layers Thinlits, Petal Burst EF, Copper Metallic Thread, Bouquet Bunch Framelits
LHD: PoPuP Twist Insert, Vertical Thankful

Now come hop with my creative friends.

Global Design Project: Color Challenge GDP #109

Hello Friends!

What is Basic Black, Old Olive and Gold give you? Global Design Project 109 | Color Challenge.

Totally gorgeous card! These colors are out of this world. I needed some fresh colors, and decided to play using Global Design Project 109 | Color Challenge. I would not have dreamed of using these colors. When the colors are combined, the results showed the bold and masculine scheme, but yet beautiful and elegant look they can be when combined together.

Card Details:

1. Cut (1) Old Olive: 8-1/2" x 11", score at 4-1/4".
2. Cut (1) Old Olive 3-3/4" x 5" and die cut a 3" circle. Then emboss with Petal Burst Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.
3. Die cut a 2-1/2" circle in gold glimmer cs, and mat behind the opening.
4. Cut (1) Basic Black mat at 4" x 5-1/4" and adhere to the back of the embossed panel. Then adhere to the base card.
5. Cut (1) Basic Black 3-5/8" x 4-7/8". Stamp and emboss this piece with the word "Sparkle" in Gold embossing powder and heat set. The word "Sparkle" comes from the Add a Little Glitter set. Then adhere this piece to 3-3/4" x 5" gold glimmer cs. Attach this to the base card.
6. Die cut (5) sprigs from the Christmas Staircase Thinlits Dies in Old Olive, and layer them in a tree-like form.
7. Die cut (1) star in gold glimmer cs.
8. I colored the rhinestones in gold sharpie before adding it to the card.

Stamps: Add a Little Glitter
Inks: Versamark
Papers: Years of Cheer, Basic Black, Old Olive,
Accessories: Gold Metallic Thread, Gold Embossing Powder, Basic Jewel Rhinestones, Heat Tool, Big Shot, Bouquet Bunch, Petal Burst EF

Adventure

Hello Friends!

This is a mixed feeling post.

We are losing another colleague, and she is going to the client side (Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada). I am happy for her but at the same time sad that she is leaving.

She is going to be a project manager for lands as she has the skills to research and map lands. There is potential for movement, and she definitely made right choice.

Our job is researching in Indian Lands, so I created this card for her.

I used the Up & Away Thinlits dies, and sponged the hot air balloon with crumb cake, pumpkin pie, real red, and pacific point.

Because this card is too thick for an envelope, I had to figure a way to close the card. I added two mini magnets to the underside of the cloud.

So when you pop the card open, the word ADVENTURE pops open. Notice how I weave the trees in? The trees are from the Santa Sleigh Framelits (140278) and trimmed off the stump so that the trees are at different heights.

When you open the card freely, there is enough room for colleagues to sign the card.
